Microsoft acquires Cloudyn
Microsoft has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cloudyn, an innovative company that helps enterprises and managed service providers optimize their investments in cloud services.
With an article on the official Blog Microsoft, Jeremy Winter, Director of Program management, Azure Security and Operations, has announced the acquisition from Microsoft of Cloudyn, with its offer of tools to identify, to measure and to analyze the consumptions, to optimize forecasts of expense and therefore to save with a more prudent and precise projection on the real demands.
The potentialities of Cloudyn are tied up to its agnostic approach towards the bases cloud, the ideal for the context of positioning and for the strategy of Microsoft, that in March had accepted Cloudyn as partner to support of the Microsoft Cloud Solution Providers, those realities – almost system integrators – among Azure and the firms that manage and monitor the use of the base. Infosys is at the same time investor and client as well.
The context, in fact, underlines how the growth of the cloud services sets binding challenges as it regards the management and the use of the resources. The greatest part of the firms, in fact, completes a hybrid choice, without abdicating however to at least a service cloud disbursed even by heterogeneous provider. Here that the dashboard of Cloudyn in these cases allows of monitoring how much the different services are used, but also to optimize them.
Winter brings the symbolic case of a firm Fortunes 500 that would have gotten with the choice of Cloudyn a return in the investments of over the 280 percent, relatively to the efficiency in its model of cloud adoption. Microsoft with the acquisition of Cloudyn will now introduce in its portfolio tools of management, governance and safety. The safety: a circle in which Microsoft is moving acquisition after acquisition.
