The project starts in Novara, registration opened!



Promoting and strengthening the digitization of small and medium-sized enterprises is the aim of the project “Made in Italy: Excellence in Digital”, promoted by Unioncamere and Google, which sees the Chamber of Commerce of Novara among the 64 members on the Italian territory.

Emanuele Poggia, 28, holds a degree in Economics, and Maria Chiara Bello, 24, a graduation in Law, both from the University of Piemonte Orientale “A. Avogadro “, are the two young resources chosen to encourage the digitization of businesses operating primarily in the craft manufacturing and tourism within the area of ​​jurisdiction of the Chamber of Commerce of Novara.

The beneficiaries of the initiative are both companies that have no presence on the web, then those already online, that need ideas to make the most of the potential offered by digital tools in order to enhance their product and increase opportunities for business.

For each of the candidate companies, the fellows will made a personalized profiling through a free “web checkup” to find ad hoc solutions (such as creation, modification and analysis to the websites, e-commerce start-up evaluation, visibility on maps and social, on-line promotion strategies). The aim is to promote SMEs’ access to new areas of the internal market and the international market, followed by B2B meetings at the Chamber body.
In the previous edition of the project a total of 40 local companies were involved, working in the food industry (especially rice and wine), they had the opportunity to improve communication and online promotion.

According to an analysis conducted with Google Trends, in the last year relevant research for the Made in Italy carried on the search engine have grown, especially through the use of mobile devices (+ 22% in 2014 from smartphones and tablets). Recent studies also show that SMEs with an active presence on the web increase their productivity by 10%. They notice an increase in turnover of 5.7 points higher than that of SMEs offline and export almost double those that are not online.
